Pick A Lock
Anyone can learn how to pick a lock. Since most locks are very similar in function, especially the ubiquitous pin cylinder lock, all you need are the right tools and a little practice. At Lockpicksonline, we have all the tools you need for basic and advanced lock picking. Again, all you need to do is practice--and a willingness to experiment with different techniques and tools. Basic Lock Picking One of the most basic lock picking techniques is called "scrubbing." To scrub a lock, you first place the tension wrench in the bottom of the keyhole and provide light tension. It's important to keep the tension light, as too much pressure will make it impossible to open the lock. Next, you rake the pick over the bottom pins until they set. You may need to do this several times. A more advanced method of lock picking, and one which you should use if scrubbing doesn't work, consists of lifting the pins one at a time. To do this, you first insert the tension wrench, and then insert the pick all the way into the back of the lock. Starting with the last pin, you depress each pin up and down a few times until each one is resting at the shear line. If you don't have the time or inclination to pick a lock with a tension wrench and pick, you can always use a pick gun. Our non-electrical pick gun uses force to rapidly lift each pin so you can instantly get into just about any pin cylinder lock. One word of caution, though: lock pick guns can damage locks with extensive use, so it's best to use them infrequently.
