Lock Picking Kits
While everyone has seen an actor pull a paper clip or hairpin out of their pocket to pick a lock, the truth is that most successful lock pickers actually use lock pick tools. Two tools are essential to picking locks: a pick and a tension wrench. The tension wrench is used to apply pressure to the cylinder, and the pick is used to release individual pins. People hoping to become good lock pickers may be disappointed to find that paper clips found in pockets aren't normally used to pick locks. However, the good news is that lock picking kits can be just as unobtrusive and even better--a thousand times more effective. Even though the majority of locks are similar in that they are pin cylinder locks, some locks require different tools. Using Different Tools When we say "different tools," we don't mean that you need to carry a tool box around filled with all kinds of crazy instruments. Most picks are similar in size, but may have different variations of edges--if you try one and it doesn't work, you simply move on to the next. Likewise, tension wrenches may vary in thickness or length. At Lockpicksonline, we have lock picking kits that can easily fit into your purse or even your pocket. Our starter's kit includes two picks and a single tension wrench--just enough to get a beginner started. For more advanced lock pickers, we carry 14-piece and 32-piece sets, with enough types of picks and wrenches to open just about any pin cylinder lock there is. All our kits come in leather cases, with slots for each tool, so you don't have to worry about searching around for pieces.
